A Closer Look at Our Process
With origins as an invention funded by a grant provided by the U.S. Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), ionized Hydrogen Peroxide (iHP) was developed as a direct response to the Anthrax attacks of 2001. iHP was soon realized to have exceptional efficacy against viral pathogens beyond Anthrax. With iHP achievable solely through Binary Ionization Technology (BIT), the technology became the first combination of both solution and technology to be registered by the EPA.
Binary Ionization Technology utilizes a solution comprised of 7.8% hydrogen peroxide as a sole active ingredient, naturally enhanced by a cold plasma arc. As a result, the BIT solution is converted to submicron particles comprised of hydroxyl radicals, or natural Reactive Oxygen Species (ROS), which kills pathogens on contact by spreading into the area and completely wrapping around objects, with no residue.

At CINC Restoration & Remediation, we believe that a minimum of a 6-log reduction should be every commercial, industrial, and home application’s goal when it comes to disinfecting spaces and surfaces. A 6-log reduction means that 99.9999% of present microbial pathogens, like spores and microorganisms, have been eliminated from the air and surfaces, and this is considered complete disinfection.
Because ordinary disinfection products usually result in a 2- or 3-log reduction, our professional surface disinfecting process is a saving grace for businesses and homes in a wide range of industries. With the FDA- and EPA- approved technologies, such as the SteraMist BIT, CINC Restoration & Remediation provides an effective 6-log reduction of contaminants such as:
- 42 common molds
- C.diff
- Coronaviruses (including SARS-Cov-2 which causes COVID-19)
- Influenza
- MRSA
- Norovirus
- Salmonella
- Staph
- Weaponized anthrax and other chemical agents
- And more…

About the SteraMist BIT (EPA Reg. No. 90150-2)
- Appears like a dry fog
- Moves like gas
- Is effective in covering the entire area
- Eradicates pathogens in the air and on surfaces

In fact, data proves that the SteraMist BIT’s hydroperoxide spray system’s efficacy in achieving a 99.9999% (6-log) reduction in present microbial pathogens. In other words, it delivers 1 million times fewer pathogens, and it can even produce results as high as 9-log reductions. Other benefits of the SteraMist BIT include:
- Fast-drying formula that results in sooner room re-entry times after service
- Promoting healthier environments without the use of toxic or corrosive chemicals, like chlorine or bleach
- No residue left behind, meaning no extra wiping or rinsing for you to deal with
- Suitable for use on a variety of materials, including electronic devices, rubber, finished surfaces, and more
